Wildflower Weaving with Atlas Obscura + Swale
Saturday, August 25, 4-6pm and 6-8pm
Spend a summer evening with WE GATHER as we join Atlas Obscura and Swale NYC for a totally unique experience aboard NYC's only floating food forest!
Blend the magic of textiles with the delight of the natural plant world. Learn the basic principles of weaving using an alternative frame loom, all while interacting with the wild plant and flora offerings from Swale. Each participant will walk away with a sculptural wildflower wall hanging and small wooden frame loom. All materials and beer and wine are included.
WE GATHER Weaving Circle
Saturday, September 22, 1-4pm
Celebrate New York Textile Month and the magic of making textiles and join us at WE GATHER’s open Weaving Circle. Bring your own loom or come as you are and use one of ours. All skill levels are welcome, from complete beginner to total master. We'll offer short tutorials on basic weaving skills, and we’ll have some of our favorite studio yarns on hand for textile experimentation. Stay all afternoon or just for a few minutes, and enjoy the company of others and the satisfaction of creating cloth.
This event is free and open to the public, though limited spaces are available. Kindly RSVP to reserve a spot.
Beginning Weaving

Join us in the WE GATHER studio for an unbe-weave-able evening!
Learn the basics of handweaving and get a head start on your first woven wall hanging. Perfect for those on the hunt for a new skill, this 2.5-hour workshop covers all you need to know to weave on a frame loom. We’ll cover setting up the loom, basic weaving techniques, texture, and finishing methods, all the while experimenting with fun and varied materials.
You get to take home your very own custom WE GATHER loom kit so the weaving fun never has to end!
Advanced Beginner Weaving
Saturday, September 15, 12-4pm
Dive into the wonderful world of weaving with this in-depth workshop using the Cricket Rigid Heddle loom and exploring all of the textile possibilities it provides.
Perfect for a total beginner or those who are looking to up their weaving street cred, this workshop walks you through the process of dressing one of our studio looms and weaving a very fresh sample/mini magic carpet. We'll cover all of the fundamentals of weaving with this tool, including basic weave structures and patterns, textural techniques, and necessary troubleshooting skills.
