Beginner Weaving

Wednesday, September 18, 6:30-9pm

$90-$100 each

Join us for a beginning weaver's eve in the WE GATHER studio!

Learn the basics of handweaving and get a head start on your first woven wall hanging. Perfect for those on the hunt for a new skill, this 2.5-hour workshop covers all you need to know to get weaving on a frame loom. We’ll cover setting up the loom, basic weaving techniques, texture, and finishing methods, all the while experimenting with fun and varied materials.

 You get to take home your very own custom WE GATHER loom kit so the weaving fun never has to end!

Weaving Circle and Pop-Up Shop

Saturday, September 21, 12-3pm


Celebrate New York Textile Month and the magic of making textiles by hand. Bring your own loom or come as you are and use one of ours. All skill levels are welcome, from complete beginner to total master. WE GATHER owner and textile artist Whitney Crutchfield will offer short tutorials on basic weaving skills, and we'll have some of our favorite studio yarns on hand for textile experimentation. You'll also be able to shop in person all of our DIY weaving, dyeing, and stitching kits, as well as one-of-a-kind finished goods. Stay all afternoon or just for a few minutes, and enjoy the company of others and the satisfaction of creating cloth. This event is free and open to the public, though limited spaces are available. Wildflower Weaving

Wednesday, September 25, 6:30-8pm

$50 each

Kick off your week with a fresh start by blending the magic of textiles with the delight of the natural plant world. Learn the basic principles of weaving using an alternative frame loom, all while interacting with a variety of responsibly foraged local plant and flora offerings. Each participant gets a WE GATHER Small Frame Loom Kit to keep!
